In order to choose adequate protective clothing, the potential heat energy from an electric arc needs to be calculated in a thorough risk assessment. The Arc-Man® electric arc testing system developed by DuPont measures the ATPV and EBT values of protective fabrics and garments in simulated open electric arc incidents according to IEC / EN 61482-1-1. DuPont is the only industrial company to with such equipment at its disposal.
