DuPont Celebrates Customers’ Innovation with Nomex®

Celebrating excellence and innovation in integration and design, the DuPont™ Nomex® Innovation Award ceremony took place in June 2010 at the Eurosatory show in Paris, an annual exhibition that gathers the world defence market.

Jeroen Jacobs, DuPont Life Protection, presented the awards to the garment manufacturers that have developed innovative designs incorporating Nomex®. The winners were:

‘Advanced Integration’ category - WL Gore - Nomex® based Air Crew Concept produces significantly improved survival chances in the event of an emergency landing or ejection.

‘Protection and Functionality’ category - Remploy Swift Responder 3 (SR3) with Nomex® and carbon/membrane based the world’s first fire retardant carbon/membrane CBRN protective garment. The SR3 is quick to don - 25 minutes (80%) per responder in dressing time - saving vital minutes and lives in the early stages of a CBRN incident.

‘Design and Ergonomics’ category - Fuchshuber Ultra light Nomex® Comfort Underwear - an innovative concept for those already wearing Nomex® uniforms - incorporating Nomex® Comfort and Lycra®. The material is very soft and has a low weight - 100 g/m2 - offering additional protection ideal for those who operate in hot climates.
